INFORMATION LETTER

The Department for US and Canadian Studies of the Research Institute for the Asian and European Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan in cooperation with the National Foundation “Silk Road – Path of Consolidation”, is going to hold an international scientific and practical conference entitled “Expanding Cooperation Between Central Asian Countries in Water Energy Sector”, on 25-26 April, 2024.

The following issues/topics will be addressed at the conference:

• Ensuring an effective mechanism for managing transboundary waters of the Amudarya and Syrdarya basin.
• Maintaining and expanding inter-basin dialogue between the countries of the region and adjacent regions.
• Rational use of water and energy resources in the region.
• The USA and Canada’s experience in efficient use of trans-boundary water resources.
• Reviewing innovative solutions to strengthen regional cooperation in the water and energy sector.

The international conference implies participation of scientists, experts, representatives of ministries and departments and governmental agencies, as well as public organizations.

Working languages of the conference: Tajik, Russian and English.

Compliance with the standards for writing scientific articles is mandatory. The texts of articles must be edited and comply with existing requirements. The volume of articles should not exceed 8 pages (A4 format). The article should be presented in Times font New Roman, font size – 14 and line spacing – 1.5.

The conference will be held both in a traditional format (offline) and in a virtual format (online).

Deadline for submitting articles is 1 April 2024.
