Good news came that the famous Syrian publishing house "Baal" in Damascus published in Arabic the first edition of the book of the great son of Tajikistan, academician Bobojon Gafurov "Tajiks".

The book was translated into Arabic from the Russian original by the famous Syrian writer and translator Dr. Ibrahim Istanbuli, commissioned by the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

It should be noted that Dr. Ibragim Istanbuli translated into Arabic the works of a number of great Russian writers, including Rasul Gamzatov and other writers of Dagestan.

The book "Tajiks" was published in Arabic under the editorship and preface of a member of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan Nazrullo Nazar. In his preface, particularly, it is written: “Surely the Arab reader is first acquainted with the history of the ancient Tajik people through the book “Tajiks in the Mirror of History” by Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The book was published in Cairo by Dar al-Fikr-al-Arabi, publishing house in Arabic in four volumes twice in 2009 and 2011, and now this edition will allow the Arabic reader a deeper acquaintance.

The author of the preface also informs the Arabic reader that the book "Tajiks" acquired great importance during the period of state independence of Tajikistan, was published in the Tajik language on the initiative of the Head of State and presented as a gift to each family in a copy. At the same time, a campaign was launched to translate it into foreign languages, including Arabic, and 2023 was declared in Tajikistan the Year of the book “Tajiks” and its author, Academician Bobojon Gafurov.

The preface expresses gratitude to the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Farhod Rahimi, for leading the translation of the book, as well as to the Director of the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography named after. A. Donish Karimzoda U.N. and Director of the Institute for Asian and European Studies of NAST Niyozi Y.B. for cooperation in clarifying and editing historical and geographical names and terms.

The publishers, in their letter to the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan to Moscow, inform that they have decided to present the first edition of the translation of this masterpiece as a gift to the Owner of the initiative to promote the book, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Year of Commemoration of the book "Tajiks" and its author, academician B.G. Gafurov.
